Día del Niño/Day of the Children in and near Baker

Location:

The art museum is opening it's doors for a free event on Easter Sunday, April 24th, celebrating "Children's Day" or "Dia de los Ninos." According to the Wikipedia article about the day it is celebrated on a variety of different days around the globe depending on whether you are celebrating International Children's Day or Universal Children's Day (I wonder if some day there will be an Intergalactic Children's Day as well, just to use yet another all-encompassing superlative).

The event at Denver Art Museum has a strong culturally Southwest US/Mexican component including music and dance performers:

Multi-cultural performers that day will include Fiesta Colorado, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet Folklórico, Aplausos de Colorado Children’s Chorale, Danza Azteca Tláloc, Colorado Mestizo Dancers, and mariachi bands from Jefferson Public Schools, among others.

The event has backing from a variety of local institutions including:

Consulate General of Mexico, DAM Latino Outreach Committee, Mexican Cultural Center in Denver, Ready Foods, KBNO Radio, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Latina Chamber in Denver.
