Broadway Assistance Center profiled in Street News Service article

there are many organizations running service programs in and around Baker, serving the poor, the homeless, those with short term difficulties, those with health issues or rehabilitation needs, and those with spiritual deficiencies; from time to time we may highlight some of these programs

this week the long-standing Broadway Assistance Center (BAC), operating within St. Joseph's Church at 6th & Galapago, was the subject of a detailed article at Street News Service (SNS)

the article says Broadway Assistance Center is in Baker; though it's actually located across the street in the La Alma/Lincoln Park Neighborhood, BAC's services do benefit many families in Baker; BAC is not on Broadway either, but it started in 1975 at 204 Broadway

the article describes how the Broadway Assistance Center provides services to people in the area, and shares the perspective of several people who've benefited; BAC is a great asset to the community; it provides food to about 800 people a month, as well as clothing, rent & utility assistance, a medical clinic and other services -- even haircuts!
