  • Crazy Mountain has moved into the newly-vacated Breckenridge Brewing facility; with this move plus their existing Edwards facility, Crazy Mountain can brew five times their 2014 production; their beers are almost never seen in Denver, so there's speculation about whether they'll also be contract-brewing or what… and will they open the brewpub? no firm announcement yet

Illiterate Magazine and Indy Ink have an art show/contest this weekend - the Pabst Blue Ribbon (or PBR) for grand prizes of $1893 and a year's worth of PBR. Not bad!

Breckenridge Brewery has several locations serving food. This location serves up simple but creative barbecue options. It is also the largest total location since it has their main brewing operations.

I've never really liked the Breckenridge Brewery beers. I'm pretty specific about what makes a good beer and most of their beers lacked a certain punch.

Then I visited this restaurant/bar at 471 Kalamath and was introduced to some of their beers that never seemed to make it into stores: Small batch brews that pack a punch like the 471 India Pale Ale, the Vanilla Porter, and 471 ESB. Especially the 471 IPA suits me quite well.

Couple that with some solid barbecue and you've got a neighborhood business worth supporting.
