the Platte River Half Marathon will begin in downtown Littleton at 9 a.m. on 11 April and proceed up the multi-use trail on the South Platte River to the Buckhorn Exchange at 10th & Osage; the trail will be open to other users during the marathon, so Phil Milstein Park would be an interesting spot from which to watch the race

if any Baker residents are competing, let us know so we can cheer you on!

this just popped up like a crocus within the past few days: an interesting, historical and sometimes whimsical "Baker mis-guide" has been created with numerous locations, photos and descriptions on the PublicEarth wiki mapping site

Sketch Wine Bar - Wine and food for Baker's oenophiles

Sketch opened over a year ago as a basic wine bar with appetizers. It now has extended both the hours of operation and food: breakfast and lunch items including panini and coffee.

Note: the famous Italian sandwich is a panino. When you have multiple sandwiches the plural form of the word is panini. So, if someone says "1 panini" they are mixing numbers.

Hours for Sketch Wine and Food

Sketch is open seven days a week until 2am, and now opens at 6am Monday through Friday at 7am on weekends with breakfast available until 11am every day.

Come hungry! :-)

(Il Vicino is wood-fired pizza restaurant at 550 Broadway; just guessing at the times)

Baker has numerous billboards on Santa Fe Dr., Kalamath St., Broadway St., Alameda Ave. and 6th Ave.; there are also several aimed toward drivers on I-25; so i thought it was worth drawing some attention to Council Bill 80, a public hearing for which will be held on Monday, 8 March 2010

Baker has had issues with billboards in the past, notably the one at Broadway & Maple, which was enlarged and illuminated despite
